NLTPAO Application & Schedule Information

Call to Artists!

The North Lake Tahoe Plein Air Open is back
and we want you to be a part of it!

The event will take place Monday, June 13 - Saturday, June 18, 2016

Early registration cost is $85 per artist.

Commission on art sales is 70%.

Artists come from near and far to gather and paint the breathtaking scenery of North Lake Tahoe "en plein air," in the open air. NLTPAO will once again organize "Paint-Outs" and painting demonstrations, exhibit during the Tahoe City Wine Walk and hold the Farmer's Market Quick Draw Competition.

A reception will be hosted June 17 from 4-6pm. This is the culminating event for our North Lake Tahoe Plein Air Open painters. After a week of painting the majestic scenery of Lake Tahoe, artists will display the work they created and enter their pieces into a juried competition. Artwork will be on display for sale at the reception. This is a special preview opportunity for reception ticket holders to buy artwork before it is made available to the public during the Tahoe City Wine Walk the following day. Prizes will be awarded at the reception, wine and light fare will be hosted.

For more information please visit: northtahoearts.com or email event coordinator,
Abigail Gallup at: pleinair@northtahoearts.com

IMPORTANT DATES:
April 1, pre-registration with discounted fee of $85 ends
May 1, late registration with fee of $100 ends
May 10, welcome packet with info to artists and agreement mailed
June 13, event begins, on site registration North Tahoe Arts, Tahoe City CA

We've listened to our artists' feedback and have made a few changes this year:
  • Artist participation will end Saturday June 18, 2016 at 5pm, immediately following the Wine Walk public exhibit.
  • We have eliminated the gallery show for the month of June. But would like to display the ribbon winners at NTA through July 4, 2016.
  • We have eliminated the fundraising aspect of the event and are not requiring a painting donation this year.
  • New to this year, we'd like artists to consider donating a piece of their choice at the end of the event. We will make these pieces available for sale via online auction, post event, with all proceeds benefitting NTA.

Tuesday February 9, 2016 Oxbow Nature Study Area

Hi all,

This is late notice, and it is on a Tuesday for a change.  It is supposed to be warm, and I tried to pick a place that wouldn't be too muddy from snowmelt.

REMEMBER, THIS IS A TUESDAY!  Hope to see you!

Date:          February 9, 2016
Time:         10:00 am
Place:         Oxbow Nature Study Area
Amenities:  Bathrooms.  Cafe down the street

Directions:  Take the Keystone Exit off of I-80 and turn south onto Keystone Ave.  Continue to W. Second Street and turn Right (West).  After several blocks Second Street bears left and becomes Dickerson Road.  There is no sign indicating but just go that way.  You travel through a semi industrial area and the road dead-ends into Oxbow Nature Study Area.
